Once again I am seriously bad at updating my blog I was playing my first match in the World Championship yesterday and now it is Saturday nite. With a 92% certainty that would infer a loss on my part, since people in general are a tad bit more enthusiastic about telling stories of their great wins, but not this time. I managed to sneak out a 9 point win, but fell in the 2nd round to the 5th seed Ismo Rönkkö from Finland – lost by 11. A decent performance on my part, but still far away from the best players in the world! The semi-finals are tomorrow morning where Denmark is represented by Jesper Ratzer. The three other competitors are my good friend Stefan Adamson from Sweden, Callum Reid from Scotland and Michi Dickert from Austria and in my humble opinion the title is totally up for grabs.
On a different note I have to warn you: “If you are used to 5-star hotels and 24 room service and in general are a lazy ass poker player, then ‘The Racketlon Tour’ is not for you! In the last two months as a Racketlon player I have stayed in more ‘Funky’ places than 18 years on the Backgammon and Poker circuit. It kind’a gives you different perspective and on a positive note there is for sure a lot more comradery. Time for a Saturday nite drink Gus
